Dental emergencies can happen anytime — while eating, playing sports, or even during sleep. Knowing what to do at the right moment can help save your tooth and reduce pain.
Some common emergencies include:
If a tooth is knocked out, hold it by the top part (not the root). Rinse it gently with milk or water and try to put it back in its place. If you can’t, store it in milk and visit your dentist immediately.
For toothache, rinse your mouth with warm water and use dental floss to remove any food stuck between teeth. Do not apply painkillers directly on gums.
If bleeding, use a clean cloth or gauze and press gently on the area.
Always call your dentist as soon as possible. Acting fast increases the chance of saving your tooth. For swelling or severe pain that doesn’t stop, go to a nearby dental clinic immediately.
Quick action can make a big difference in saving your smile!
